ELEMENT ELEVEN (AKA UTAH BURN):

Come visit and learn about the Chlorophyll Collective's Single Cell Solution! Northeast of Emerald City's Center Camp you'll find a small-scale algae farm, used (at first) as an exhaust-capture simulation. This especially 'green' algae farm has a shady dome space where you'll find discussions and information on algae farming and the potential eco-solutions using algae. Dream of the possibilities while you gaze upon a bank of bubbling photobioreactors, photosynthesizing in the sunlight.

If our prototype heat-exchanger and blower are working, we will use the algae farm to capture exhaust -- fixing carbon and keeping it out of the atmosphere. Carbon Dioxide is one of the greenhouse gases responsible for global warming. Exhaust capture is one giant step ahead of carbon-offsets by not allowing the carbon dioxide it captures into the atmosphere in the first place. This algae farm technology can be used to capture exhaust from generators on the playa. But most importantly, this technology can be used to eliminate widespread pollution by coal-burning power plants all over the world, potentially 'greening' the favored electric power source for 3rd world countries; COAL.

This year Dreamtime is teaming up with Chlorophyll Collective and utilizing a new application of an old technology, using micro-algae for eco-remediation, and cleaning up pollution. We will be using micro-algae to capture CO2 and other particulates from the exhaust released from a 20 kilowatt biodiesel generator located near the Main Stage. Come check out the algae station!
